A week of interaction design in Copenhagen

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

At Synthesis, we do more than write code. Last week, for instance, I was in Copenhagen working on a design project for Intel. The Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, my former employer, was asked to create concepts relating to “future experiences of computing in and around the home.” We spent an intense week brainstorming, sketching, synthesizing, and presenting a range of ideas and scenarios. The mid-project presentation was Monday and I flew back on Tuesday, leaving the further development of the concepts to the rest of the team. They’ve got plenty to choose from, and I’m confident they’ll come up with some worthwhile designs.

I’m just happy to have had the chance to work on such a conceptual project and to further develop my interaction design skills.

It was also great to be back together, as a part of Synthesis, with my former colleagues from CIID and the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. Thanks to the folks from Intel for making it happen and giving us such interesting things to think about.
